The Indian government is working hard to digitise all types of services. When a citizen of India attains the age of 18, he/she becomes eligible to vote. A voter ID card, sometimes known as a photo identity card, is issued by the Indian Election Commission. The purpose of voter identification is to increase efficiency and prevent fraud in a free and fair democratic election. The voter identity card is also known as the EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card), election card, or voter's card. This card can be downloaded in PDF format from the National Voter Service Portal's Official Website. 

What is e-EPIC? 

The Electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card, or e-EPIC, is a secure portable document format (PDF) version of the EPIC that can be downloaded and printed on a computer. Voters can save e-EPIC to their devices, submit it to Digi locker as a PDF, or print and laminate it themselves. This is in addition to the PCV EPIC that is currently being issued.

Eligibility:

1. A person must meet the following criteria to be eligible for voter ID:
2. An applicant should be a permanent Indian citizen.
3. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
4. This voter ID card is issued to all registered voters with a valid EPIC number.
5. New voters can receive a digital voter ID card if they registered during the special summary revision 2021 and applied between November and December 2020. (Those who provided a mobile number while applying will receive an SMS and be able to obtain a digital voter ID card.)
6. Other requirements are having no criminal history and not being financially insolvent.
7. All the details on the voter's ID must be correct.

4. Age proof
5. Passport size photo

Steps for Downloading a Digital Voter ID Card @nvsp.in or App

Using National Voter Service Portal

Step 1: Visit the National Voter Service Portal's Official Website. 

Step 2: Click on the login/register tab on the homepage.

If you are previously registered into the portal, enter your login information and click Login. If not, Register.
Step 3: Then click on e-EPIC download. 

Step 4: Input the e-EPIC or Form Reference Number.

Step 5: Confirm the OTP that was delivered to the registered mobile phone number.

Step 6: You must now click on download. 

Follow these steps if your mobile number is not registered in Eroll

Step 7: Then, to complete KYC, click on e KYC. 

Step 8: You must now pass the liveness verification of your face.

Step 9: Then, in order to complete KYC, you must update your mobile number.

Step 10: Then, click on e-EPIC download. 

Using Mobile Application 

Step 1: Download the app from Google play store or Apple store 

Step 2: Now you must open the app and log in using your credentials.

Step 3:You must now click on e-EPIC download(redirected to the National Voter service portal)
